Freshening up my 69. Has chambers (unknown brand) and mild porting with the bridged port removed. Bore is 60.5 with Wossners. Im thinking about carb / intake mods and possible ignition upgrades. Nothing crazy, just want a snappy little noisy bike for fun to bring to the local bike nights. Im not riding it regularly or commuting on it. So power delivery and ride-ability aren't really a concern. |

Your ignition should be fine, it is a good unit if CDI. But their may be an upgrade soon from Lakeland. (Jim here on the board) Bigger carbs are a good idea, if nothing else to get rid of the horrible stock carbs. 30 flats would be great for mild porting and pipes. ![]() |

I have only seen the cheapo chinese versions. Anything from Mikuni or Khien ? Yes it still retains the stock CDI. I have no idea if it works yet as I havnt gotten that far yet. It had plug wires and caps dangling when I got it. The rotor is a bit wonkey as well. Thought I would get the engine done on the bench and finish up paint first, then deal with the ignition and carbs once its back in the frame. |

I was cross thinking with the VM's, 32 is the smallest flat, there are also the 30 VM's, and those are fine also. |

The Mikuni TMX30 would be an option maybe. At least TMX38 works extremely well on a H2. |

A lot of guys also look at investment dollars. The VM 30's are around 82.00 each, the TMX are around 162.00, or double the cost. (not including tuning brass) |

VM30 is a rubber mount, and the bike has the bolt on spigots. Is a rubber coupler the way? Any clearance issues to the case ect? |
