Similar engine weight and size.
It may be a while until I can ride it as is however.

A while back I had a nice Ninja front end I thought about transplanting to my H1 project. I think it was Tim Steel, that told me the 16" front wheel was a killer and turned in way too quick, so he didn't use it. NOW, I have a complete super nice EX250 roller. Motor in it is even good. I wondered what you folks thought, about setting an S3 motor in it? Sturdy enough for the weight Id guess. The Ninja motor is heavy. Other than the obvious difference in shape and weight distribution, it might be clunky, but it is still something I may explore. Had a very nice extra EX250 frame to go with it. Mint tail unit too. Also landed a nice GT550 Suzy motor and parts yesterday. It was a good day and made up for Thursdays trip. Got a nice motor and great frame H1E. Fork legs and a bunch of parts. |

The power isn't very different either. Have you ridden the bike? As you know, I bought one for my daughter to ride, and I love it as-is. If nothing else, you gotta like the 65 mpg. |

Oops, not so complete. I'd guess you'd be into a few hundred to get enough parts to make a nice naked 250. You've seen the one I just did, haven't you? |

To put a triple engine in the 250 frame, it'll take some design and fabrication because there's no frame under the engine.

What year was that Jim. I thought this one had a double downtube setup?? The spare frame I got is 2 years newer and has no lower tubes for support??? I will have another look, I am fairly blind as a rule. |

I think it will be a good project, and, no problem for the engine cradle, all you need is a pal with a tubing bender, and welding skills. Go for it. I have two S series bikes here, one S2 with no engine, which will get done up as a S2R clone, with highly modified Bighorn engine, road race tank, tail, that theme. The other is an S3, also no engine, will be fitted with a KX500 liquid cooled engine, both will be street legal. |

find a donor s series bike and use the down tubes/ cradle weld or bolt onto new frame, should be no major deal to do |
