Hey guys, just wondering what is the easiest set up for a 72 h2
I don't imagine anything other than stock just bolts up as far as forks and swinger?
Any info would be most appreciated

Cheers

Whats wrong with a stock one? New bushings, some good shocks - maybe an inch or two longer - and you're good to go.

Modern bike handling would be the goal.

Um, OK put the engine in a "modern" chassis - there ya go. I'm not kidding.

These bikes are 40 years old, what do you expect? You can do a lot to the existing ones with very little effort and they handle just fine.

The H2 can be made to handle very well, within the confines of a 40 year old bike; there is plenty of detail around this site, and it starts with attention to the basics. But otherwise, yeah, just stick the engine in a ZX6/7 frame, and be done - nothing wrong with that. Some guys have adapted modern USD forks and single-shock rears onto the original frame - nothing wrong with that either, just seems a hard road to hoe, for mine! Someone will come along with a different opinion shortly, no doubt!

Modern suspension and fat tires will just make it handle worse (than a well set up triple) without major mods to the newer parts.

It very well could be cheaper to buy a complete modern front end by the time you install decent brakes, bearings, springs and gold valve emulators in the stock front end. Going modern doesn't necessarily mean USD forks and mono rear with fat tires, just sayin. ;)

front: spacers on the fork and heavy oil, no more steering bails but more modern ones (don't remember the name in english), rear:needle bearing for rthe swingarm and good shocks.
