That rusty carb looked real bad. However the other two came out looking really great! how'd you clean them?> just soak them in berrymans??

You have shown some fantastic work so far. I agree with all the other posts, KEEP THE PICS COMING!!

Thanks! First I soaked them in Berrymans and then I used a Dremel with a wire brush attachment to get off the stuff that was left. After that I used polishing wheels and polishing compound on my bench grinder to shine up most of the surfaces. I got a polishing kit from http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/buffing_kits.htm. I originally got the kit for my engine side covers. I then used my dremel again with a small polishing wheel attachment to get to the nooks and crannies. There are still some areas that I couldn't get with the dremel.

About the white stuff in the carbs, I took some H1 carbs apart last week and they were filled with the white stuff. Turned out to be calcium. I soaked the parts in CLR for 5 minutes and it was all gone.

Great tip! :D I think I'll get some clr and soak them. I'm worried about the small orifices clogged up (or not fully open) with that carb cocaine!

+1! If I had a tank like that I's seriously consider NOT going to premix on the next build. :eh:

After nearly 2 years to the day, the Pile of Dog Poo is back baby!

Decided to make the 250 into a 350. Bought a 350 engine to swipe the cylinders and heads from.

Decided to repaint the frame. I wasn't happy with the powder coating. It was too flat and too many imperfections. Powder coating makes a great base primer.

Stripping of the layers of paint

Smoothing out the imperfections

Clear coat on and a trial fitting on the bike.

Hmmm, brown leather seat?

 Nice work, It's a real head turner! I have lurked around this site for 2 years or so and saw the first post you made back then, I didn't think it was a bad deal then, now it looks like the purchase of the decade!
