Yellowsnow, have you been through the test procedure on the resource site? http://www.kawtriple.com/mraxl/cdilate/latecditest.htm I guess this news is a little late, but the regulator is in the 12V charging system, and completely separate from the ignition system on a late H1 (1974 on).
really? I have read all that, but thought they still needed that initial zape to the feild coil..All the regulators failed the test anyways though. Would have known the CDIs were junk earlier though.

In a late H1, the alternator has a permanent magnet field (rotating).

When you get it running, it might be worth testing the regulators in the bike and measuring charge voltage at at idle, while revving, with and without headlight, and get a better idea of how they're working. You may have several good ones to sell.

This is the picture of the H1 how i got it. It has a mono shock set up. I measured the swing arm pivot point and they are the same. And since i did away with that huge air filter box, I have plenty of room to move the battery and oil reservoir around. I am going to get it going and riding first, but i want to eventually put this set up on the bike. The disc brake and wider tire will greatly improve braking.

I have never messed with suspension much. When installing this swing arm I put it on and weld the bracket for the top of the shock. My question is, how do you weld the shock bracket in the right place to where it is in the right place with the riders weight?? Is their a trick to this?
My new CDI unit should be in by the end of the week.
I do want to do something totally different with the rear fender to, but i really like the seat i have.

That was the donor bike that doesn't have a title. It now has the engine cradle cut out. But i will eventually put the mono shock on the frame i'm using. by the time i'm done their won't be much Suzuki left.

+1 Mark, I've done re-stamping myself. We try and do the right thing but the "system" just makes it too hard. In the end they get registration money regardless so I don't know why they make it so damn difficult to re-title etc - especially old bikes - say a title that's 20-30 years old why not make it easier.

I didn't know that could be done. But this way it will be MY custom bike, by me for me.

I finally came up with the money for the CDI from Lakeland. I was doing a head gasket job on a Toyota Rav4 on the weekends. I got it most of the way done before i found a freeze plug missing and another one half out. So i did all that work on a cracked block. The guy i did it for never said after the head gasket blew he left it over the winter with just water in it. So of course he is trying to not pay me now that it runs great but has water in the oil :banghead
