Haaaaahahahaha, that's almost unbelievable your bike is running at all.

Just wait until you got your 240 mains, and p5 159 combo..........you will notice the difference quite well

Well, you better be looking forward, as you have not yet been running a well tuned H2. I really can't wait reading your next comment after the retune. :)

I AM
I wish I knew more about the VM carbs because it would have been easy to spot the shrouded needle jet, I just don't know theses carbs at all.
I will say it will be a pleasure to play with these carbs I am used to 4 cylinder banks of CV carbs.
This whole bike is easy to work on like it was made for someone who wants to take it apart and put it together :D
You could almost tune these VM's on the fly :P ;)

I want to make sure I am ordering the right needle jets the 159 series has the shroud and looks like this.
Is this the needle jet most are using?

http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/media/ext ... 0411-2.jpg

Is it better to run them with the shroud or without?

Thanks

Demus........159 series.........Niche (or whoever) sends some goofy unusable stuff with their carbs, I replaced all of it.....they are pricey too..........start rich and then work towars leaner..........I had 159 P-6 in my bike last year, put in P-2 and cleaned it up a bunch at 1/8 to 1/2 throttle.........you can't go my bike though as it has UFO's and Piston Port and is a different config then your reed motor

When I ordered them from Nichecycle I called and asked if they could come with the p-6 needle jets in them whom ever I spoke to said they did already and we never talked about series. The carbs did come with the 159 series but is a Q-O and when I original posted a few back I mixed up the series but edited it for my own benefit.
There prices are in sync with others unless Im missing a good vender for carb parts, I haven't noticed too much differences in pricing or shipping.
Any recommendations?

I tell you I have been a disaster lately with putting stuff in the right order and I am usually very good at following directions and knowing what is what, but not lately :?
To much stuff going on both personally and at work!!
Id better get it together I have several contracts to write this week!!!! You mess those up it's BIG trouble!!!

I am going to start some suspension work over the winter and have started by weighing this bike.
I don't know how accurate the 2 scales method, both scales weighed both my son and myself accurately so I assume they are good.
So I came up with this, it seems way to light;
Front 183 lbs
Rear 205 lbs
Total weight; 388 lbs
47% on the front
53% on the rear (rounded % numbers and in line with what I have researched on the site for front rear bias)

388 lbs????
Seems way to light that is with 1/2 tank fuel and full oil and trans.

Any thoughts on this method to weigh a bike, it was level, there was a scale, same brand and model, under each wheel.

regarding your chain hitting, if I see correctly it isn't at risk of cutting into the oil-containing portion of the res. Switching to 520 ring chain and maybe grinding away the outermost portion of that res might solve it. Looks like it isn't functional.

Is that the stock seat? Sounds funny but one of the best mods I did is an aftermarket seat...lighter and way more comfortable

I am a bit surprised to hear of the mid bog with reeds, but am learning more as I read...has to do with the back wave timing and not just double carburetion. If you think those carbs suck to jet, try some flats some time :D

Is the upper shock mount ok without bending? In the one photo, I agree with your comment it looks to be not the most sturdy but maybe ok? I'd at least keep an eye on it.

Looking great demus, but I have to tell you this before you put on the clear.....the kawasaki decals is the other way around.
you put on right decal on left side, and vice versa.

the stripes though, are perfect, same with the 750

I always thought Kawasaki put them on backwards. Those look right to me.
