The 2 collars on the S1 transmission that the end needle bearing rides in has an oil slot/groove on one side. Cant remember and tough to get a good pic of it, does that oil slot/groove face in toward the tranny or out toward the side covers? Thanks, |

It doesn't matter as much as the hole is offset so it changes the shim stack clearance. That is way more important...... |

Slots in bearing sleeves referred are to enhance oiling of the thrust washers, hence are normally installed towards gears. J |

J ja-moo, the locating hole for the dowel pin looks to be centered in the collar. J- facing the gears would mean towards the inside of the transmission towards the center? that is what I thought it would make sense for it to be I just can't remember. Thanks guys |

I would measure, as I have not seen one with the hole centered. It is just something to look out for, as you don't want to start having trans problems. There is oil splashing around on either side anyway. |
