Will the later h1 or h2 forks and tree's work on a 69 h1 without modding the frame? I want to get mine rideable and it seems I can find a whole front end cheaper than I can buy the inner 34mm tubes to repair mine. I'll restore the originals and put them back on later

Yes.

However for best results the h1B's triple clamps (accepts the 36mm later tubes) should be used due to its greater 58mm offset...

Are H1B & H1C triple trees the same? Cause I think I have a triple tree for the C model.

So I'm probably better off finding an h1b front end unless I can find a useable h1a

No. The "C" had the same 34mm tubes with a drum brake as the earlier 500s.

Get the H1B triple clamps and any of the later H1 forks (or all H2) are compatible (thinking of availability of used rust free 36mm tubes here rather than confining your search to only the H1B)

I "believe" this would be the H1B-only lower tree:

Here's another, but the pictures are poor and it appears it may have corrosion issues...?

Be careful as the 72 H2 trees appear similar in the brake junction mounting area, but I believe the rake/offset is different then the 72 H1:
