hello people im new to this site ,owned a few h2s rds kzs and hogs throughout the years .but its been a while since i ve had a kawi and im now building a 72 h2 from a pile of parts. what i have is 72 cases ,fresh 72 crank new bearings seals and trued, 74 clndrs with new pistons already fitted ,74 oil pump and all the lines and check valves nice complete set of 34 mic s with oil pass in them.instead of adding jets in clndrs, junkin the later oiling system and trackn down all the pieces for the early system can a guy just block off that passage going to the clndrs and run the later top end and 6 point oiling system ? has anyone done this ? will it hurt my early style rods ? i already have all this stuff and really dont want to have to purchase more stuff that i already have.

It's a positive displacement pump, so you cannot block off any of the outlets. It's a easy half hour job to put the restrictors in the cylinders......

I think hes asking to block off the cyl restrictors, then use the 4 outlet pump and lines on the early cases vs sourcing all the early pump and lines

suppose ya could just spin the cyl base gaskets 180( blocking the cyl oil feed) and use the late oiling setup ??

what i was thinkn is run a tap a1/4 inch or so down the oil feed at the base gasket .the only diff i can see in the top half of the case is that hole leading to the cylndrs is not there.on the later cases because the oil is going to the carbs

It will work if you turn the cylinders around too! :e11

I suppose you could get some gasket material and cut your own base gaskets without the hole? Seems like a simple solution, no machine work and completely reversible. ;)
Make sure it's the right thickness or you're changing the port timing & compression... (slightly)
