I'm having trouble with mid range power. I have an H1F that is stock except it has pod filters. I raised the needles to the 5th position with no good results. Jetting is stock. I have good throttle response when cold but it goes flat when hot. Ideas?

2 strokes just lose power when they get hot. I would lower the needle as it sounds like you are too rich when warmed up.

Not disagreeing with Ja-Moo, but while it's normal for power loss when the engine is hot, the difference isn't huge. It's noticeable, but not enough to make you wonder if something is wrong... ...unless something is wrong. :P

Something is wrong. There is a big difference.

Try what Ja-Moo said, but don't rule out something like a failing ignition coil. An H1 feels pretty sluggish on 2 cylinders.

Is the engine newly bored and rebuilt?

Coil getting hot - failing.

1. What is the procedure to test a coil is working properly?
2. Are there replacements available somewhere?
3. Is there a member who offers a rebuilding service?

H1's have a bad spot around 5k where they are sensitive to jetting. Does your bike 4 stroke or crackle through this RPM? If so, it's rich. This condition gets worse as the motor gets hotter.

You're not running Emgo pod filters with the chrome cap on the end I hope
