I've narrowed it down to my stator not firing on right side "R" wire. Can this be repaired? How do I find the problem to repair? Thanks |

I'd like to help, but I need to know what triple, and as many more details as possible. |

Hello sorry it's a 74 H2. I switched wires like you said and I get spark to the right only if I switch the stator wire from the left to right or center to the right. I also used a voltmeter to touch the end of each wire to the other end at the signal trigger. Both left and center gave me readings but not the right side wire. I've examined all the wires and did not find any broken. I put a stator from my other H2 and the bike fired up all cylinders. |

It sounds like you have determined that it's the R signal generator that's bad. You probably know, but it's one of the three black plastic things under the alternator cover. I'm not aware of any reproductions, so you'll need to find one here on the board or on eBay, etc.. Usually you can test a signal generator by measuring the resistance between its white wire and ground. It should be around 200 ohms. |

Thanks! I tried everything except what you just told me to do! Yes 2 of the signals are around 175 and the right is 1. Thanks for your knowledge. I'm in the process of removing the guts from a CDI unit and getting it ready for shipping to your company. Thanks again. ![]() |

You're certainly welcome. You might look around that bad SG and see if anything is shorting the output terminal on it to the metal around it, or if the wire's insulation is cut through somewhere and touching the frame. In fact, you could unsolder the white wire from that SG and check its resistance to ground. Once unsoldered, it should read infinity (open circuit), as long as the 3-pin connector is unplugged. |
