Sorry for the newbie question but I'm kinda new to this stuff. It's also not technically a triple, but close enough that I'm sure some people here can help me. I'm putting my A7 engine back together, and one part that was missing when I took it apart was the overflow pipes from the carbs. Obviously I will replace these, but there are two holes drilled into the cases on each side, one for the fuel overflow tube and one for something else??

From what I can gather it's an air vent, but venting air into the case here would mean picking up unfiltered air right from the road surface, wouldn't it? Does anyone know what the story is here? Picture below for reference, I've circled the two holes.

I've posted a lot there, but lately it's a ghost town. I'm almost the only person posting anything anymore.

I know there are a few members here that are familiar with the twins.

edit: I think I figured it out myself. Looking closely at a picture from the book (attached) it appears the the rearward hold is for the fuel overflow, and the small hole has, I think, a rubber grommet in it.

Thats cool Chris. I forgot you already used the A series forum.
Glad you figured it out.
