I need to replace the left side crank seal on my 73 S1. I know that the seals are designed to be installed with the cases split. Is there a procedure to install the seal so that it will stay in place? Thank you in advance. Firstbike. |

Thanks guys! Great video, I didn't know about chamfering the case where the seal sits. |

I watched ja-moo's excellent video (above) a while ago, although it's not really relevant for those of us with the twins. It did occur to me though - wouldn't it be safer to do your chamfering with the old seal still in place, to reduce the risk of getting metal shavings in the bearing? |

Any way that keeps metal out of the bearing works! ![]() |
