Long time no workie on points. Set points and little S2 runs waaaay better now. Felt like it was starving for gas too so after this so I raised the needle up one more and it was all the way up now. Comes on harder now but tails off quickly and doesn't go full power. I noticed that if I let off throttle at 7500 from WOT to 3/4 throttle it actually runs out the rpms better???? I don't want to go back down on the needle because it comes on better now, however it does blubber a bit at low rpms before the fuse is lit???? As if I need to back off on the needle. Weird.

After you set the points, did you check the timing with a timing light?

If Bill set his point gap and didn't check the timing with a light, it's possible it's a few degrees retarded. That will mimic being lean and lose power, etc.. Maybe it's set perfectly, but I thought I'd ask before he starts changing jets.

Timing should be a "given", but we all know Bill.......   From his throttle change description, the main is too small.

I can assure you it's not retarded, it was quite advanced to begin with, I just moved it further on and it helped. This is initial tinkering, play nice John.

Yes, something isn't right here.....just getting it sorted out in 5 minute increments due to no time to tinker. Needs to be set right with light and points reset. I let the intake boots set in brake fluid, diesel fuel and trans oil to soften them a bit and it worked, "for now".....but was amazed at how much better it runs with the system closed up to the stock air box. Fun to ride these llittle thangs. Memories.
