I'm beginning to put my 750 motor together, and did the drill mod for the oil holes to the cylinder base. I didn't do a lot of "homework" on the mod, and just drilled the holes. Well, as Murphy had some free time, he decided to stop by on this one. :banghead The holes need to break through to the main oil feed holes in the cases near the top, above where the threads start. This is the "chamber" that feeds the oil to the port. I had 2 that broke through in the threaded area, which caused a major headache to fix. so just be careful.....

another thing a guy has to be careful of is using a dull bit and "forcing" it through. This rookie mistake caused me to break off a bit, which is now a permanent resident in a set of cases. I was able to drill another hole just beside it (with a new, sharp bit), so crisis averted.

YEah, the long bits are brittle. I was "trying" to auger the holes upward, but just broke the bit. Luckily it just pushed out.

What size drill should be used? I have a set of 74 cases that are set up for the Suzuki rubber mounts and
I need to drill the oil passages.

I have a set of early H2 cases lying around and found a drill bit that just barely fit through the passage..... no clue what size it was though..

(some help I am eh?)
