Huge improvement men. :D Starting with a timing check, (still good) I ran through the ENTIRE checklist. I went with 105's and switched back to 30's, needle clip on 4, air screw at 1 turn out. I noticed two pilots were missing the Mikuni logo, so I bought two more that did and that seemed to cure some of my problems. I'll play with the clip position over the weekend, but I'm pretty happy with it already. Another change I made was to replace the barrel (not sure of the name) with the rubber bottom to stop flow in the cold start circuit. I was thinking that if fuel was leaking past here, it may have been throwing off my jetting. Is that correct? All I had on hand were SUDCO replacements, somewhat close, but not exactly. I'll check to see if Mikuni versions are still available. I checked all the cables and have the required slack as well. Thanks again for the insight, the suggestions, and getting my bike running strong. Going through the process from the START seemed to do the trick.

Those carb kit jets will screw with you every time. Glad you're getting it sorted. Some of those kits also come with the needle jet and jet needle, so those might be worth a look while you're in there for the mikuni stamp as well.

This weekend, when I was removing the slides to play with my clip settings, I noticed the slides had a film of two stroke oil on them. Very slight, but slippery to the touch compared to prior checks before these jetting changes. Is that the norm? Seemed fine to me, helps the slides move more freely I would think. Just didn't know if I should be concerned. Again, very slight film.

One of the most helpful things to do is mark your throttle with about 6 equal marks from idle to WOT.
Try and resist to make more than one change at a time. Note what throttle opening your at that your trying to
sort out. Hit the starter lever a little to add a bit more fuel. If it gets better your lean at that spot. One step at a time and take notes and anyone can learn to jet carbs. We should try and meet up for a ride soon Mike.

Agreed Ron. Be nice to join up with Taner and Burak, along with any other local triple enthusiasts.
I still have never done Ortega Highway. Maybe the time has come.

So what does this chart mean?? Im not smart enough to know.

Is it telling us that a larger main jet becomes more effective sooner than a smaller one so its contributing more at lower amounts of air? And therefore could affect the other circuits?
