Tonight as I was installing my new air filter canister and rubber intake boot, the hot lead from the battery to the ignition switch arced to the frame - the wire union cover had pulled back a bit - the wire between the fuse and the battery fried (so much for the fuse). Fixed the wire but now it will not start. In fact when I first tried it after replacing the wire - it popped once and then nothing. Prior to this the bike ran fine.

Stock H1A with a Lakeland ignition.

The neutral and charge lights go on, head and tail light go on, the Lakeland ignition hums (that is one of my questions should it hum - I thought it was silent prior to this point) - everything looks fine just will not start.

I am open to suggestions.

I'm being tested!

Greg

It should hum softly. If you'd like, send it back and I'll check it out. It's hard to say, but a voltage spike may have caused something to fail, but maybe not.
