Post subject:  any known options for a shorter H2 clutch cable?

Bike is a 72 H2 with superbike style bars. I looked in archives and couldn't find my answer so posting up now. Are there options for a shorter than stock H2 clutch cable to use with superbike style bars? I'm using a stock length one and have rerouted the cable to take up as much of the excess slack as possible. Didn't know if any other application has been found to work? I've lubed my cable and it still seems like a strong pull is needed even with Sy tech mechanism. I may need to pull it out and lube the Sy Tech and try a new cable if no other shorter versions are known to work. Thanks.

Buy cable ends, parts, cut to desired length, solder new end. Done.

An S2/350 cable will work - it is about 3-4" shorter; the outer sheath is slightly smaller than a H2 cable, but the wire is the same. The outer sleeve measures 97.5cm overall. Mine was a repo. from Repro.decals/Diablo and it is fine. Get yourself a new cable for a smooth light action!!

PN 54011-050 was for lower handlebar OEM.

Hide, who made the original multi spline lifters also made a shorter cable with a steel tube elbow in it - I was simply amazed at how simple it made the clutch action, someone needs to look into getting more made

My friend (Dave/Ned on the Canadian board) made a batch of these hydraulic units... I have 2,000 miles on mine and it is unbelievable. In addition to the actuator, you will need to buy a hydraulic line and a handle bar M/C (we are using a dog-leg Magura unit). These make shifting fun - guys at RB's last summer could not believe how light the pull is (one finger). By the way...if I promised you one of these at RB's...PM me as they are available now

Yes, it's the only way to go for a triple. It also improves the option of a Barnett clutch, since the hydraulic actuator is self adjusting, and swelling clutch plates aren't noticed any more.

I ordered the S series cable from Amish John and will give that try. Thanks Rod for that suggestion. I'd love to find and try Hide's short cable but that's made of unobtainium. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
