To be fair, I'm sure BBP asked the question in good faith. BBP, there are no special requirements for this system, so use any modern brake fluid you choose, with the usual procedures for flushing the system before changing fluid types, etc..

All right you guys, I know it's a stupid question .........If I want be hassled like that, I can just go up the alley four blocks to my buddy Doug Neef's shop "The Petroleum Club" where we knock back several beers each night and spend the rest of the time insulting each other  . Hence the name BBP....Big Butt Phil.....Butth@part numberpart number$le Bast*&^%^rd Phil........Bed Bug Phil.........Bad Boy Phil..........If you guys can expand on some more for the acronym BBP, I'm always open for suggestion ........I am a phone man, trust me, nobody here is gonna hurt my feelings !

Somebody somewhere said something about (may not have been this site) DOT5 silicon not eating off paint, not sure if it is compatible with the EX system.

Anyways, when I get a friggin camera that works (or I'll buy a new one) and get my front end on next week, I will upload some PIC's, then maybe I can restore some cred's..... the bike is looking awesome ! :D

Merry X-Mass, Happy New Year to All !!!

You can run DOT 3 or 4 without any problem. DOT 5 can also be used IF the entire system is flushed first. Mixing DOT 5 with any other type will cause it to coagulate. DOT 5 will not harm paint. There are some claims that DOT 5 feels somewhat spongy compared to others. There is also a DOT 5.1 that WILL harm paint..... different than DOT 5.

MAXRL

10-4, thats why I asked, I am building a new system and gonna rebuild and use the EX Master and Caliper....will probably just use some good DOT 3 then and watch the paint, use a bunch of towels, etc..........will have a kings ransom in paint and everything else.

Thanks Man ! (I lived in Nashville for a year back in 2005, good folks)
