A recurring problem with the vacuum petcocks takes more than just a rebuild kit. The lever face can become pitted, and will just tear up a new 4 hole gasket. If it is lightly pitted, it should be polished until the pits are gone. But it's better to fill the pits with JB weld or the sort, and then carefully polish. It is also a good to polish undamaged lever faces. And then grease with this fuel resistant grease.

I went with the new repro one with the off position. I am not a rocket scientist but it is not hard to figure out where they fail . I see failures everyday on a multiple hourly basis :) Make it work, an off to never never land on two engines :) RIGHT LMAO

Hummm, the can says Easy Turn Lubricant. If it came in a pump can it would remind me of a certain picture on the internet that will remain unspoken here.

I have a question about the petcock as well. I want to run a stock petcock but remove the vacuum feature. I just want an on/off switch not the vacuum bs. design. How about just installing a block off plate where the diaphram is. Has anyone done this?

The feature is to keep you from ruining your motor. Keep it.

Can you say, "Pingle"???
Supposedly a flow that is always ample.
Has an ON and an OFF No reserve. (I believe)
About a 100 bills around ebay. But make sure it has the adapter.
Otherwise running a stock one without the vacuum to ensure a steady flow, like moo said, not a great idea.
Well thats what I thought he meant. 8-)
