Ganna get the holes bored. Ive hear rumors years ago that the center cyliner heats up more so than the ends and expands a little more than the ends. Is it true and if so wouldnt ya wanna get the hole bored with just a lil more clearance than the ends when fitting the pistons. Does anyone do this? Or was it justa rumor. Had a freind that locked up the center back in 1982. Also where can ya get the best price on a wiseco piston kit?

My center cylinder appears to run cooler on my triple.

I assume the urban legend is "the center cylinder seizing" due to excess heat. It does seem odd that the center cylinder could be cooler given the fact that there is far less area exposed to the air. Is it possible the outer jugs are "drawing" the heat away? Does heat "flow" in metal? I know you know this kinda stuff Walms.

The center cyl will not overheat if you keep the front fender on! Yes, Tony told me that, it's an air scoop. Most people who melt the center cyl did so by extended running with no front fender! :banghead

This reminds me... LC wanted me to run that test, taking off the front fender and seeing if there is a significant difference.
I'm using a temperature sensor under the spark plug btw...

Please do the test. I think it is important to find out. I run the fender myself but never actually thought about the cooling air on the center cylinder.
