I have the EMGO headlight setup that lets me run a standard 7" halogen sealed headlight on my H2. Problem is that when I turn on my light, the High Beam indicator lights too and then gets brighter when I flip to the bright on the headlight switch. I have traced the problem back to the Sylvania headlamp I bought from Oreily auto parts. Seems the circuit is open from low to high beam, it does not "switch" from high or low exclusive? So, for the guys running this setup, what brand and part number headlight are you running?? Thanks!!!

If you don't ground (black/yellow wire) the correct lug on the sealed beam, it could do what you are describing.

Brian is right check your ground. I ran a emgo Halogen light on a H2 and the high beam worked fine. Make sure
the Halogen bulbs ground goes the your harness black with a yellow trace. The high beam indicator connects to the
black/yellow and red/black. Make sure you have the low beam from the bulb connect to the red/yellow and the
high to red/black. I just wired one today so it's fresh in my mind.

Thanks guys for the reply. Sure my ground and the light setup is correct. Running the bulb off a battery I check ground to low and lights correct, then ground to high and lights correct. I have the yellow black then grounded to frame. I have the problems with the modern Halogen bulb, when checking with vintage OEM light, non halogen, the light and bright indicator work as they should. I need a bulb where bright and low are separate circuits/filaments. Seems like my setup is high and low burn the same filament with bright burning brighter but not separate. Thanks again.
