To save a lot of time and grief, as of right now, there are no kits (even Sudco kits) that have accurate jets or needles. The only parts in any aftermarket kit that are usable, are the bowl gasket, fuel valve, seat and gasket. The rest is junk. So either reuse your old parts, or get new genuine Mikuni jets. Factory needles are NLA.

If a good kit does show up on the market, the thread will be revised....... :thumbup:

And here are Carb rebuilding videos;

I think the consensus is that Ivan's kits are good. They are not just copies of original jets though, he redesigned the needles and needle jets to improve performance. I'm not plugging Ivan's kits here, but I wanted to point out that his are known to not have the problems that all the aftermarket "rebuild kits" have. I believe that the main, pilot, etc., jets in his kits are genuine Mikuni parts.

Ivan's kits are not "rebuild kits", they are jet kits.

Newcomers who aren't familiar with Ivan's kits might have assumed they were in the same category as the crummy rebuilt kits that don't work. I just wanted to make the distinction for Ivan's sake.

There are a lot of fake crap pieces coming from a country I'll not mention......

And there is also a lot of confusion when it comes to other brands of jets, and one companies 110 is not the same as another companies 110, I had a handy cross reference somewhere.....

yes, but my old carb kits are rebuilds from a couple of decades ago. which are the lessor of 2 evils?

I suppose one could reuse old main and pilot jets if you really clean them out.

How do you identify original Mikuni parts?

There should be a funny little symbol on the item. Someone may post it.
