Seems like there are old and new ones that work forever or fail at will.
One would think that newer with modern adhesives would be best, but perhaps new could also NOS from 30 years ago.

I had pulled the rear wheel from my old H1 to find the shoes had started to come un-glued but never felt any difference in braking.
Odd in that I had inspected it when I first got it, rode 1,000 miles, and then pulled the wheel to change tires.



It's a question that I never asked Jim. He did say the friction material was better than what was on there... I never use the back brake so I wouldn't be able to verify it though. :)
