Bad history, yes.

But This is the only pictures I had, and shows 2. 3. and 4.gear, and they work great so far. But I can tell: They did not at all prior to disassembly.

When running in 4. gear and kicking down to 3, sometimes I hit neutral between 2. and 3., NOT 3. and 4!!!!

Believe it or not.....

No signs of that now, and since this is the only gears that I have availible <i gave it a go. And the serious problems that I had disappered, but a new one came.
Hope I'll sort this out. The transmission has to deal with 100 rwhp (hopefully), so we'll see.........I'm an optimistic newbee, and I guess most would have let this kind of work to a professional due to lack of experience, but I'm a stubbern guy who just wanna manage myself. :D (with good inputs from triple friends like here)

Jorgen

Good gearboxes do come up on E-bay fairly regularly, at reasonable prices, I bought one fairly recently from Jessbikes (I think!!) which was like new. Failing that, I am sure a lot of us have gears and parts in our "stash" we would be happy to sell. If you have anything like 100HP, you are going to need a good box, they are marginal in a stock set-up! Have you seen this from mraxl's resource site.http://kawtriple.com/mraxl/trans_manual/motomanual.htm

Can we see a picture of the gear engaged? The back cut seems pointless with the dogs so rounded.

2,3,4 and 5. gear works great after undercutting, but I will evaluate the use of the gear showed in the picture with the rounded dogs. It was the only I had at that noment, therefore I put in back in the cases after undercutting, and works great so far.

Picture don't show first gear.
