Happened to me on my 71 H1. Cleaned thoroughly and used red Loctite - no more problem.

The lock washer I got from Diablo was way too thin, sheared the tab off as I was tightening down.......went back to my old.......have one coming from France at this time, don't know if it will be any better........does anybody sell thick good ones ?

I am using PBI sprockets with 520 chain and a Yamaha spacer with bolts in it, had to grind a hole in the sprocket, loctite and no problem in 1100 miles.......I can see where an event happened before as a part of the case was craked by the sprocket, cleaned it up with a dremel

Counter shaft sprocket nuts tend to loosen and come off. Usually they just fall in the cover, but can cause a dangerous situation.

Four reasons (I know of) for the problem:

3. Improper prep or lack of torque on the nut. The nut and threads should be in good shape, and thoroughly cleaned of all oil or grease, then blue loctite applied. Torque should be from 70 to 80 ft/lbs. DO NOT use an impact to install the nut. And of course one of the locking washers side bent up to hold the nut.

Installing the front sprocket on my H2B and scratching my head. I've bought a new sprocket, has the little hole, and a new washer as shown on the fiche.

Referring to the washer that has a tab that sits in the hole in the sprocket.

92024-067 I believe is the part number.

Oh, that one is to be bent up on the nut? Got it, thanks.
