I'm curious. If I had pipes finished with Mop N Glo and decided I wanted to paint or chrome them, how tough is that stuff to remove?

Terry

I re-coat my pipes at least once a season and what I do is soak a scotch bright pad with WD-40 and give them a wipe down, after that, I wipe them with acetone and promptly re-coat with mop'n glo...
The WD-40 seems to cut the Mop'nglo and at the same time leaves a nicer matt finish then if you get if you use scotch bright on dry bare steel.

Just a quick question about the chambers. I checked the link and like the pipes. Maybe a dumb question but is the price for the set or just one? Thanks

I do the mop n glo also, I LOVE the welded look ! Can always paint then later.

Of all the 3 types of pipes that I have used (stock, real dencos with baffle & these: Jim made stingers) these are my favorite. Excellent work Jim!

I went to Target (store) and all they had was Mop & Glo Wash and Shine, is that the right product? I didn't see any other brands that were just Shine, all included a cleaner. Also, I couldn't navigate to any useful information on RB's site.

I think this is the stuff: http://www.rbnainfo.com/productpro/ProductSearch.do?brandId=23&productLineId=415&searchType=PL&template=1

If not, someone let me know please. I'll be wanting some soon myself.

It sure looks like the right stuff to me...
The only difference I can see from the bottle I have is the "3 in 1" label.
I just wipe it on with a rag but I've heard posted here that some guys put the stuff in a spritzer bottle and spray the pipes... I think I might try that method this year... It might build up a thicker layer of the stuff.

I suppose Mop'n'glo could be applied by spraygun, (seeing as I have one) and it seems like a few coats with plenty of drying time between may be the way to go. Can anyone equate it with "Future floor wax" (not really a wax), which I use for another purpose? Any comments out there? And it doesn't burn/brown at the headpipe end?
