This is on the H1 custom i am building in the Mod Rods section. My clutch worked fine before. I installed a bigger front sprocket, then the bolt head, that goes through the center of the clutch arm where the cable hooks to, was getting in the way of the chain (not original bolt). So i put a different bolt in.

Now the clutch arm (that the cable hooks to) moves up and down too freely and does not disengage the clutch. The center bolt and whole works moves with the arm. The bolt is the only change i made. Maybe it is a little too short, but it threaded in at least a half inch or so. Or maybe something more serious?

I am sure i can figure it out when i take it all apart. But any guidance would be appreciated.

Thats the "bolt" that pushes the rod that pushes the ball that pushes the plunger that pushes the pressure plate and now it's too loose. Likely because it's too short and must be adjusted to take up the slack per the manual clutch adjustment. Better look for another, more suitable adjuster "bolt". The locknut is also important or it will soon be back out of adjustment again. This should all be CAKE compared to the work you've already done!

Oh ok.
I was thinking it just held the arm onto the rest, I even put a big washer on it.
No big deal, But with this 16 tooth front sprocket the 2 are getting real close to each other.
