I check my front sprocket nut quite often and found it loose again Saturday. I had it torqued to 75lb and used a new correct locking washer and red loctite.
I think I'm going to weld the washer to the sprocket, any other tricks to keep this nut tight?

You're using the washer with the tab and the sprocket with the notch right?

Wow, I wonder what's causing that? You might consider one of Larry's (Redlinemotorsports) Pinion locking washers - look in the crankshaft section. I used one for a final drive a fair amount of time with no issues - and replaced the std washer when I got them. But it worked, I don't know what size you're looking for though, I think this was a 30mm but I'd have to double check.

Are your splines worn? Is the nut/washer bottoming out on the spline ends before the sprocket (incorrect spacing)?

Just thinking out of the box here... Speith locknuts are the dogs bollocks for ball screws, if you are at a loss, you might consider the investment.

The problem is between the sprocket and shaft, The pull, push back and forth can move the sprocket that little bit and loosen everything.

You should be able to shim up the clearance with a feeler guage so the sprocket has no play, then torque, bend and use whatever locktite you want.

I just put a tac weld on the sprocket to the lock washer, that should do it. I am surprised that with the correct torque, red loctite and a new lock washer it loosened up. When I put the bike together a few months ago the sprocket spacing seemed right John.
