Ahh, the old discussion! I can set up a H2 properly, but I would run 2 hydraulic dampers if I could........!!. (And when I go FAST on the ZX10r, damper on full, and that thing handles a lot better than any triple!!!)

Getting my 72 frame ready for the powder coaters. The stock damper bracket was repaired and didn't look safe so I made my own out of 1/4" bar. This one should hold up for a while.

The best fix I could come up with is just to remove the original and then use bar stock. I got into the habit of doing this before I send the frame to the powder coaters or painters.

Looks fine, but I need it to be fixed as it is right now, not going to powdercoat the frame or anything, as all looks good now. Just some sort of weld, and a local respray is my goal. |

I simply "box in" the stock bracket, by adding filler plates to the top and bottom of the mount welded to the mount and frame. Never had a problem after that. I, too, have run two dampers on one frame, just have to fabricate the mounts, install the damper. |

Good to know of pattern failures. Thanks for this. I'll fab a little 12ga. triangular gusset, weld it in place when the opportunity presents itself. |
