no good........

well, let me clarify, there are guys running them, but I personally wouldn't use them as ash trays......

I'm just going to save up to do the crank and top. I just want it to run right and not have to worry about it once riding. I might have to take out a loan to do it though. :banghead

I'd say put it back together, and go ride it a bit.

DO NOT wring it out. DO NOT try to explode the engine.

Just go ride it in a casual manner. Save yer nickels 'n dimes for awhile, so's you can do it up right.

What I heard in the video, wasn't really REVVING it up, maybe a few grand in RPM? At most???

All I heard, was normal triple air cooled fin racket. But someone with good young clear ears, may hear more...
While you still have the one? cylinder off, you might remove the wrist clip on one side, pull the wrist pin, and see what kinda markings are on the wrist pin, as far as small end bearing wear. If it truly is a new top end, there should be no marking or tracks on the pin, much less a shallow depression worn into the pin...

IF there IS some marking on the pin, it is time to get the other two cylinders off, and check the whole "new top end" out, just to see how badly you were taken.
I don't wish that scenario on you.

Never reuse a C clip for a piston pin. If you go that route.

I have ordered the stuff to do a leak down test. If the bottom checks out i will do the top end only.

Like i said the sound doesn't really show up on the video, but sounds worse in person, than i was letting on.
it is obvious that it hasn't had a top end in a while.

On the positive side this will give me time to transfer the mono shock rear end over. I am still in the dark about what to do with the kick stand and have to make a mounting bracket for the shifter, so no real reason for a hurry.
