 Post subject: drill and tap size

Going to fill with weld the exhaust stud holes on my KH500.Looking for the correct drill and tap size for the original stud.Thanks.

stud size 8-1.25 drill size for hole 6.8mm , you could use a 7mm drill bit if you carnt get hold of a fraction drill 6.8mm , hope that helps al

In my shop that would be 17/64" = 6.75mm :mrgreen:

what language is that ;) , were modern in Aus and the bike is metric isnt it :D :D :D

I just looked at my dinosaur collection and Ive got a 6.75 to but it reads 17/64ths , :clap:

Why not just use a thread insert- Heli Coil etc?
