I have Denco's on my bike and they have the long baffles in them..right now a bit loud for the street . When I re-pack them does the packing wrap the full baffle length. is safety wire good enough to hold packing when putting baffles back in chambers?

Yes, wrap the full length, and use lots of fiberglass, wrapped tightly. You can use wire or tape to compress it and hold it in place. Masking tape works OK, and doesn't get gooey. Wire is probably better, because it keeps doing its job and helps you get it out next time. Wirges chambers tend to have their little holes in the baffle tubes clog up, so sometimes you have to poke something through them before repacking. I haven't seen that happen to the louvers in Denco silencers, but it's probably worth looking at them.

The TNTs will. 80% of the holes in the set I had was plugged.

Did TNT silencers have a zillion small holes, or louvers like Dencos?

Thanks Richard, those look like Denco type silencers. If the louvers got clogged, it must have been a matter of a long time without repacking/cleaning. Good that you got it fixed.

The packing looked very clean but as much as they had wedged in there, it was almost like having a stinger on it, and sounded just the same. when we get to the gap, we can pull the TNT stingers for a closer look. They'll be on the bike. the biggest problem I had was a hot coal going down my shirt. Man that stuff gets hot in a burn barrel.
