 Post subject: torque for exhaust?

what a good torque setting for the exhaust spigot bolts be? cant find anything on maxs site. thanks

at this point it dont matter, both studs shared off trying to remove them :e4

AH, wish you would give up the whole story......... ;) You have to double nut and smack the bolts with a hammer to shock them loose.

Also penetrating oil and heat, then unscrew them a little, then back in, out some more, back in, etc.. That is, if you have any left to do.

Two of my studs were messed up and loose from phr when they did my porting, I broke another off doing what you're doing. Then I made it worse trying to drill it out on the frame. I would pull the cylinders next time and make a jig for my drill press or have a shop do it.

it always has to be the center cylinder as well, could not be an outside one, nooooo that would be to easy. It took 3 sets of vise grips , ruined the teeth on 2 then went to home depot for more. Heat did'nt work I just pulled the jugs and about 4hrs and 4ooo taps with a hammer I got them out. Jims pipes now mounted although I need to pull the left one and tweak the bracket. Bike started but runs like crap , I need a good mechanic now I'm tired of working on these. Its no wonder I ride my c14 all the time, it works. I'm dreading putting the project bike together someday
