I put the check valve in a vice and with pliers I remove the metal guard then using a hot air gun I gently start to heat the line while gently pulling ..Not the small line ;)
Be ready it will pop off. When putting back on , gently heat the line and push it back on.

You have to be very gentle on the little brass plug.
Moo , Dale have you guys tried this?

I thought if I ever had issues with my 72 I'd try that, heating it a little and taking apart (and putting it back). Let us know if you get any weeping on the connection over time, I'd be very interested.

Hi Barry.. I have had the fittings off many times swapping check valves thinking that was the issue turns out it was a leak at the T joint. So far no weeping at all :D

I took one apart from a KH last Saturday. Same item, just hadn't had the time to play around with it yet.

John, any idea why Kawasaki checks need 4+psi cracking pressure but just as example the Rotax checks have near none but wont pass fluid due to gravity?

Don, when we get the answer, I'll have to learn how to repair these things and get the oil pump back on. But so far, I'm liking the premix thing a bit more.
