clutch wont clutch

Post subject:  clutch wont clutch
i changed the fibers, steels and springs today. put in some vesrah sk-401 springs that someone on the old forum reconmended and now when everything is put back together i notice that the clutch isnt working at all. it wont disengage and have the hardest pull in the history of mankind. any ideas on what i might have done wrong? im gonna go back in there again tomorrow, just looking for some heads up.

and its fibre, ring, steel and ending with an fibre right? 7 fibres and 6 steels?

(i think im gonna test and adjust the clutch BEFORE i install gasket, cover and oil next time AARRGGGHHH :x :x )

What engine? On the H series, the pressure plate is only correct in one position.

sorry! its on a H1B could it be friction plate clearance? because they were in there tight as F"part number¤

They should be "snug", but still slide very easily. What brand fibers?

mcpartner are kind of authorities on triples around here so i just figured i got the right ones, didnt even ask.
im gonna try grinding them alittle and try to get the spring plate on right tomorrow.

I'm guessing they are rubbing on the fingers between the tangs?

yessir, extremely snug fit and sometimes i felt like i had to force them in there. im gonna grind them alittle on the sides hopefully to spec.

Sverre,

The pressure plate should move freely even if the fibers are to snug.
I suggest you make absolutely sure the the pressure plate is correctly aligned.

Don't modify your friction plates!!! Those appear to be Vesrah plates and had have a good rep..

Be sure you have the correct washer fitted between the basket and the bearing and between the hub and the basket

I've been running the SK401 springs on a late H1 clutch for several years with good results.
