So here's another silly question. what are the symptoms of an engine running with a bad crank seal, or seals? I understand compression.. but a bad crank seal does what to a running bike?
Symptoms vary depending on how bad and what seal is leaking. Internal leaks will cause a general lack of power, more noticeable at lower rpms. External seal leaks can cause lean mixtures or trans oil leaking into cylinder.
If plugs are inserted into manifold adapters rather than cylinder intakes, and exhaust ports of an assembled engine, a test will check head gasket, base gasket, intake manifold gasket, case seal, internal and external seals.
If lab seals are used on the crank, the test must be done on all cylinders at once rather than one cylinder at a time.
