I had taken my center stand off, and now that I and going to be riding my 74 H2 around town and possibly parking it in various non-flat locations, I am considering putting the center stand back on.
The other reason is that the side stand does lean way, waayyy over to the side due to the modified stance. I put on shocks on the rear that were 1 inch taller and I lowered the front about 1/2 inch. This resulted in the side stand (in effect) being an inch or 2 shorter in reach. Therefore it leans further towards the left. This has other consequences such as fluid leaking out of the transmission vent. If I put a chunk of 2x4 under the side stand, it sits about right.

Is there a different center stand, smaller, lighter, aftermarket, whatever?
I have a stock one, but I am missing the return spring. Anyone have one?

Or should I try to have an extension welded onto the side stand?
Or maybe find an aftermarket side stand that is longer?

Any suggestions, previous experience in this?

Thanks
Jack

Put a S4 sidestand on it. They are longer and bolt up with no major modifications. You might have to hammer the heel catch down a little. I put one on my H2B.

The S series stands help, but are not always enough with modified suspension height. I cut my stand above the foot and welded in a couple inches to get it right.

The extended side stand is probably your best option as with the axtra long shocks you would find the center stand may not touch down any more. I need to put a piece of plywood under the center stand of my H1 just from putting big tires on it... :banghead

Thank you for the quick responses. I like the S4 side stand option. Sounds much easier than the other ones.
I will start to shop for one.

I just ordered an S3 '75 kick stand, but it just occurred to me...is there any difference in the length between the S2 and the S3?
Or are they pretty much the same?

Thank you, your help is much appreciated. This should solve my current issues.
