Using a universal 3 wire LED brake light-

First key position (running/lights off)- no headlight, no brake light- just the electronic ignition buzzing away (lovely sound by the way)
Second key position (running/lights on)- headlight is on, electronic ignition buzzing, but no rear light or brake when pressed.
Third key position (park) no electronic ignition, no front or rear light, but brake light does work when front or rear is applied in this position. :wtf:

I tried following the H1a wiring diagram, and used my other non-molested H1a as a guide....thought I got it all right, but obviously something is not...?
Any help is appreciated.

The H1A rear fender is rubber mounted. Did you remember to connect/install the ground wire between the fender and the frame?

The tail light bulb socket is actually rubber mounted in the steel lens mount. There is a small braided ground wire the connects the socket surround to the lens mount. This can break too.

Using a fiberglass cafe tail section/no metal fender on this one.
I ran the black/ground from the LED to a ground point where the ignition grounds to.

OK, Check to see if you actually have power (when the lights are on) on the wire you have connected the LED running portion too.

Many LED lights are polarity sensitive. Try reversing the wires for the "normally on" circuit.

Thanks again Looney! :D got it working now.
...Traced the power back to the rear- GOOD.
Then tried reversing the wiring.
Thought Black was automatically ground from the LED, but not the case here....
Black from the LED went to the red/white wire, Red from LED to the Blue/red stripe wire, and white from LED to ground....go figure.

Thx
