Damn . I seemed to hace a stripped bolt where the oil line goes into teh pump. It tightens without any washeres, but leaks a little oil. What are my options ? And if it is to buy a new pump are the ealry H1 oil pumps the same as the KH500 ?

Thansk for the help ...again.

The pump can be heli-coiled. And used pumps can be stripped also. Guys don't realize the aluminum washers are ONE use only. They don't seal, the guys tighten more and strip the pump. (pot metal) Get some stat o seals, heli-coil your pump, and you are good to go.

It's a bit tricky because of the shallow depth but it can be repaired with a M6 heli-coil

+1 on stato-seals. Went to them a few years ago when I started feeling the threads strip - or at least I felt they were about too. I get very little weeping, nothing really noticeable unless it's been sitting for a while and when I stand it upright I get a few drops out the bottom hole in the pump area. I took the advice of someone here and just packed a little blue shop-towel in the bottom section - problem solved!

Recently I used my spare pump for the SB bulletin on the end-cap and O-ring upgrade. These threads are a lot firmer when I tighten them down but I still use stato-seals. So far no weeping but time will tell and if they do - there's always blue shop towel to the rescue.

And I've reused the stato-seals quite a few times, like Tony the Tiger says They'reeeee Greeeeeeeeeeat".

Retap and installl a longer bolt. Someone here had some longer bolts a while back.

I made an insert for mine, I think it was a 5/16 fine with a 6mm inside, taped it to 5/16, screwed in the insert, much better than stock. When it comes to fixing threads, I go the next size up, I don't care if it is metric or inches, I want the smallest diameter insert possible.

I used a nut driver to tighten the bolts into the oil pimp and then I take it easy. Butter....
