This may be a silly question but it there a stop for the oil pump lever so it does not drop below the mark on the casing as these are to be alliegned. Or is it that you just rely on the cable adjustement to keep it at the mark at idle.

Just the adjustment as far as I know.

Are you saying your right cylinder is oil-rich and smoking more than the others, or do you mean it has a rich air-fuel mixture?

Smoking more oil rich. I havent run the bike for a while and was thinking maybe that pipe got loaded up. Or when I did the carb that needle is not on the correct notch with the rest. But I am pretty anal checking those things. What else could it be if the pipe isnt loaded up.

Ugg I hope not, but would give me the opp for a full blown rebuild. Ganna take it out on the highway next opp and see if it blows out any excess load in the pipe. If thats not it check the needles and if thats not it, then it a tear down for crank seals. I did the easy outters a year or so ago. Thanks for the help, this site is a great resourse.

Can ya do the seals from the bottom end, but Im assuming a full tear down is in order to replace them. I snuck a strater chain guide in once on a yamaha maxim without taking the top end down. LOL still runs great too.
