Hi guys,I have been following these oil pump issues for some time now and I would like to throw a thought out there. These oil pumps are 40 years old. I have heard that there are numerous way for air or lack of oil flow to affect the pump.when one notices that there might be a problem ,it usually is too late. These oil pumps lines, check valves, oil pumps are no longer available and nothing old, is as good as new. Everyone years ago premixed for there snowmachines, and I think motorcycles were some of the first to experiment with oil pumps on two strokes.?Oil pumps on motorcycles were very convenient for consumers, but 40 years later, those of us that don't mind the inconvenience of adding oil with our gas are sure, without a doubt, that our engines are getting oil.If someone out here can convince me to keep my stock oil pump on my engine, that seems to be working???????? over pre mixing please let me know.
These pumps are super reliable, it's the axillaries that you have to keep an eye on, and that's nothing more than normal preventive maintaince. The pumps run in NEW clean oil all their lives, never heard of one wearing out. About as bullet proof as anything can get.
Pre-mix on the street gets old very fast, the plugs load up from too much oil and whenever you shut the throttle, you shut off the oil. The left main bearing no longer ger pressurized oil.
I can't see one "plus" from premix........
