Ok. After never letting me down, my S2 stranded me a couple months ago. It started breaking up and popping going up a big hill, then it was only running on one cylinder.
My better half brought the big van out and collected me and the next day I did the following.... I checked for spark at the plugs, on 2 out of 3 it was weak and thready, almost nothing really.
Cleaned the plugs (they weren't that bad, a little darker then they maybe should be, but I run premix and Im a bit heavy on the oil)
Cleaned the points, they looked ok I suppose.
It fired right the heck up after that and ran sharper than I remembered it! (it had been a while since I cleaned the plugs) I went out for a short run. Again, after a brief run @ 60 mph, it started feeling crappy again only this time I made it home. It was popping again and sputtering.
I haven't done a thing with it since that. It seems like whatever it is is worse when it gets hot, it both cases it happened during/after being hard on the engine.
Could this be a bad condenser or two? Do they act like this when they go bad?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Neil
