McMaster Carr carries cleaner specificaly for US cleaners; it works well but I have not experimented
I was thinking about trying the Gunk brand self dunk carb cleaner but would not be able to use the heat option on my Branson unit.

Maybe try a light mix of Muriatic acid?

Branson makes an Aluminum specific solution for their cleaners that works well but I have found a mild detergent works really well. Many degreasers like White Lightning and Simple Green turned aluminum black.

We used to use Muriatic Acid to remove (eat) chunks of aluminum piston from steel sleeves in seized cylinders, and it also eats aluminum parts, so.....

I use simple green, no dilution w/heat and nothing turning black. Seems to work well on mild to medium cleaning. Probably helps that I soak them in WD40 after I blow them dry with compressed air. I hear neverdull works well to prevent blackening as well

I have had good luck with a 50/50 mix of "Purple Power" and water.
