There is no logical explanation for that crease, it is certainly unique - I suspect it has come into contact with a solid object either as a complete bike or as just a frame on it's way to the powder coaters

It's just a passenger peg mount, nothing to worry about, unless whatever dinged it also did something worse somewhere else.

Yes, it appears it was wacked with a sledge hammer rather than stress. I just remembered there was a master cylinder bracket held by a ujoint in that area, i doubt that caused it though, Ill see if I can find some old pics and post. Nevertheless, as mention, its just the foot peg area - I will leave as is.

I've seen over tightened U bolt clamps make a crease in metal tubing, like that looks, even fairly thick wall tube. The dimple doesn't look like it came from a U bolt, but more like something sharp, like a center punch. Also looks like it was done previous to powder coating.

I found a pic, it really does look like its from the u-bolt as it lines up perfectly. The rear disc conversion was from Advance Design Engineering back in the days. The caliper is still nice, basically its a caliper and bracket all in one.

and heres the ad

I cant believe I used a bracket on a bare frame like that  Its crazy with some of the things I did.

Anyway, thanks for making me think twice on that kink.

I will now be doing away with the master cylinder and caliper converting over to the EX500 NINJA cylinder/caliper.

I will also be resurfacing the rotor using either http://www.truedisk.net/ or preferable a member here, someone here did said they could do it I have to search them.

I remember those guys, they were good, for the day. That stuff all looks like Hurst/Aerhart, master, caliper. Was OK back then, but, factory stuff was better than the Hurst parts.

I thought that looked like a U bolt crease.
