I keep seeing references on multiple message boards about KH500, S series, and KZ or Z1 brake rotor discs being interchangeable. I know the diameter of the S series and KH500 discs differ and question the spacing location with relation to the caliper. I doubt that just because they are all 4 bolt rotors that the KH500 or Z rotor will work on an S series or visa-versa.

Is there anyone who can knowledgeably supply info or verification one way or another?

Before you step on this landmine Dale, I'll tell you that the U.K. Z900's came from the factory with DOUBLE discs (quite simply because, like it or not, historically, as a nation, we ride (rode?) a lot faster than our U.S. counterparts) - These 4 bolt discs were a couple of mm thinner than the standard U.S. disc, . . . . I am still somewhat jetlagged . . . or maybe it was just getting back from the pub at 1.30am after watching a great band and sampling the best part of a dozen "Newcastle Brown Ales" which, interestingly, are sold in almost DOUBLE the size bottle that they are sold in the U.S. . . . . So I will try to add mtre info in the morning . . . Hmnnn . . it IS the morning NOW!

I understand.... like the KZ650 that were 4 bolt 6.5mm. But the question is about interchangeability with the S series.

Perhaps Rick should change his avatar to one similar to yours Dale?
I have a KZ650 disk on my KH400 but it doesnt count.
It has a complete KZED (thats for your RB) front end. Tubes calipers etc. :)

My point is that different thickness discs would require different pads / calipers or mountings, I have know people that have bought U.S. bikes with the THICK single disc and find that replacing it with a thin "Euro" disc doesn't work . . . but, if you really want to poke the bear lets start with why a disc doesn't fit a S1, S1a, S1b or S1c . .. Or S2 :P
