The gear change lever that rotates the drum, has a stop pin that goes through a window on the lever, but it has a lot of adjustment, like a clutch release adjuster...can't figure out why?

The gear lever with the scissors that turn the drum....the lever return spring needs an anchor pin that goes through the opening in the lever..but it has a ton of adjustment?

There isn't really a lot of adjustment there. All it's for is to center the pawls on the shift pin.

Tuner made a post concerning this on another board. Short answer is as JA stated, "center it".
