I thought I could re-use my fork tubes but they are pitted and need replaced. I searched here and at the old place and found that some have gotten them from Jessbikes and from Mid Atlantic in the past. I emailed Jess and John they both said they didn't have any. Fast from the Past has them made to order for $120 each plus shipping. Any experience with Fast from the Past?

I thought I saw some priced for about $120 per pair somewhere. Did I just dream that up? Is there another source that I have missed?

I am still checking ebay and finding some NOS parts for $$$. Jess referred me to Franks but I read a very long thread about a bad experience with Franks and I am a bit gun-shy about them. Here is the discussion about Franks from KTW http://kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42506&highlight=franks

Any help will be appreciated. If you have a clean set of S3 forks tubes with NO pitting in the seal travel area I will buy them.

I have used Fast From the Past and he is in the same league as Jess and John a good guy to deal with
Z Power in the UK have the S series tubes at £185 ($280) per set. It's odd that H2 tubes are only £85 ($130) per set.
Last set I got was from Simon Lister for £160

bandit - Yes, these are still listed at the site for Fast From The Past for $128 each tube. They don't stock them. They make to order. When I started shopping around I know I saw $120 or $130 per pair and it must have been the H2 tubes. Now I am in deep sticker shock.

I just received another email from John at Mid Atlantic. He says he is getting 2 sets in next week and will sell for $260 per pair plus shipping. So that puts him in line with the Z Power price above. Ouch!

If two-stroke-brit or someone else here comes up with a useable pair then I will go with the used tubes.

Forks by Frank will probably have them. Seems like my S2 set was around 220. They are well made and I had them fairly quick. Just read the old post, my experience was more pleasant than that one except for the price. Seems like they should be the price of an H2 but I guess they don't sell as many.

I wonder if it would be worth calling Z1 Enterprises and asking if they can order them. Their H2 fork tubes are less expensive than other suppliers are charging.

It could be... but I remember someone somewhere saying that at one time there were crummy H2 tubes that wore out quickly, and good ones with the proper "hard chrome" plating that were like originals. I'll need a pair at some point, so it would be nice to figure it out. I do remember that Jess' tubes were said to be the good kind.

I am glad to hear that. Jess referred me to Franks - Hmmm, I wonder if that is who makes most of these for everyone???? (like Moo said)

I will give Franks a call tomorrow and see what they can do. I will post the information when I get it.

I have been in the motorcycle industry for over 30 years, and to my knowledge there are 2 manufactures of replacement fork tubes: Frank's and Emgo. I have used both with good results, can't say about the hardness of the chrome plating, but the look and fit seem excellent on both. Frank's tubes are made in Illinois, the Emgos are Chinese, thus the price difference. Frank's custom makes all of their tubes per order, the Emgo are ran in production batches. That being said, Frank's offers tubes for almost everything, Emgo does only for what they see a good market for.
