How does it connect. Mine is just bare end seems i pulled out .I see no wire connector at neutral switch
this bike is killing me,

Greg, you push down the "ring" that sits around the metal post .. this is spring-loaded and once down it reveals a hole in the post for the green wire.

Trying to find out why my light is so dim when in neutral....I replaced the bulb already, so thinking the switch may be bad.
Would be easier if I understood how its actually working- looks like a feeler that touches the shift drum...

Try grounding the wire at the switch and see if your neutral light gets brighter. If not, the problem is not the switch...

On the end of my neutral switch wire I crimped a male bullet connector with a rivet metal cast-off inserted through. This gives something solid for the switch to grab onto & makes disconnection/connection easier

Does the light get brighter when the engine is revved up?
