Post subject: | Front wheel Spindle - How does it fi? |
Hi all i am having only whatI can describe as a "senior mement"!!! as I cannot get the front wheel / spindle to work when i fit it. I have it attached as per the pics, but when i tigthen the castle nut the spindle from the other side simple pulls through the fork leg, even when i have the bolt on the bottom of the forkleg tight. There is a circular spacer which i have put under the oil seal cover (right hand side), is that where the spacer goes or should it go between the forkleg and the hub? Its a 1975 S1C with twin leading shoes, can anyone help and advise how it fits back together? |

Hi Mraxl, thanks for posting up the parts list, much appreciated. It looks like i have all the parts correct but when i tighten the castle nut it pulls the larger diameter end of the spindle towards it through the round opening of the bottom of the fork, what am i missing that allows you to tighten the castle nut without the spindle being pulled towards it, ideally i should be tightening the castle nut and everything moves towards the other end of the wheel spindle with the hole in it. |

Snug the castle nut without overtightening and put the pin thru it. Then clamp the axle. |
